UK Flooring Direct and the Perpetual Sale Event
I was recently looking for some engineered wood flooring as part of a home renovation project. I needed a reasonable quantity and the associated accessories (DPM underlay, scotia etc). So I set about researching and signed up to some e-newsletters for deals and stuff from the main online stores.
One that seemed pretty good value across the board was UK Flooring Direct – a decent selection and they advertise a considerable saving off RRP (obviously) with extra discounts to accompany if spending money on accessories. Sounds ideal!
There were some LIMITED TIME BUY NOW!!!!! email offers that came through around Black Friday and Thanksgiving with these deals on – but I held off purchasing as I wasn’t convinced I had found the best deal. I waited till around Christmas/New Year time…some more LIMITED TIME BUY NOW!!!!! email offers came through. Hmm these look suspiciously familiar.
Winter Sale (Early Feb) : Only 72 hours remaining for 60% off and £100 off when you spend £50 on accessories
Early Spring Sale (Mid February) : 15 days remaining for 60% off and £100 off when you spend £50 on accessories
I missed out on the Spring Sale :(
But no matter…
It’s been extended!
(End February) : 24 hours remaining for 60% off and £100 off when you spend £50 on accessories
I was busy then, so I missed out. But wait, there’s more!
(Beginning March) : A new code for 60% off and £100 off when you spend £50 on accessories
And April…And Easter
These guys are literally the DFS of the flooring world. It doesn’t matter when you buy, it’s always going to be the same price – not to say the prices are bad particularly…but take it to mean that there aren’t any ‘special’ deals. It’s the same old crap, every time.
I ended up getting the flooring from elsewhere as I stopped bothering to look at their ‘deals’ to see if anything was actually worth getting…
